I was originally going to write you a comment but decided to try a critique instead I've never really written one before though so here goes: I love this piece. I find that wing made of blood to be very unique, as opposed to the usual bloodied wings, if you know what I mean *sweat* As far as RIG art goes this has got to be one of my favorites, and not surprised at all it's one by you! I'm really glad Gaia is using your talents not just for coding but also for art, because you are excellent at both.
My only little comments would be about the background, I'm assuming the background is muted so that the figure stands out, as it seems like a character illustration where the object is to show the character and not so much the space around him. However I think that if this were a stand-alone piece of art, a little bit of a darker, more sinister background would give this piece just the right type of mood and ambiance to make it work as something beyond just a character illustration. The same goes for the wisps of smoke(?) coming from his hand and sword, they seem barely noticeable and while I'm thinking this was on purpose, I think making them stand out a little bit more would do wonders, especially the one in the sword. It could be my monitor but it seems to barely stand out from the background.
Critique! His collar area looks a little off. Too simplified? The ligaments/tendons might need to be emphasized more... Or, at least, ended a little farther apart? You usually only see perfect V collar lines on older people with saggy neck skin. EEK. xD AND. This is big! His left (our right) arm is WAAAAAY too skinny! D: I mean, compared to the other arm... -Shudders.- Was it meant to be like that? D:
Other than the things noted above... You did a great job on this piece. (: He looks fierce!
It wouldn't be that skinny if it was being bent. Especially since it looks like he's only bending his arm back a little bit. The upper arms should about be the same size on each side. Most people don't have upper arms the same size as their wrists... But I can see what you mean. (:
