Odin Sphere - Gwendolyn by ~Derlaine8
The suggester says "The gracefulness on it, along with excellent coloring scheme and the facial expression of the character creates a perfect mix between strength and fragility, lightness and darkness, and makes this fanart truly outstanding and totally worth seeing and admiring. Enjoy!" (

I've seen your past work, you draw large eyes but they somehow work within the face. These feel too protruding and stereotypical-anime.
The anatomy is a big factor, I feel like it's too awkward or the pose could be too awkward. The (my) left hand is a bit too large for this petite girl's body and you've given her an unrealistic waistline. I've seen your other works, their beautiful and they have enough flesh on them to look human.
Drawing a shougo loli girl doesn't need to be super skinny. Don't change yourself for the genre, make the genre fit you.
The hair bothers me as well. It looks like a shiny mess and it doesn't blend well with the rest of the way you painted this girl. Again, gives off remnants of stereotypical-anime style.
Relationship between the figure and the setting, she looks out of place. Perhaps it's the skintone against this vibrant blue feathers and pale moonlight-like background. She looks too tan for this scene. I suggest either adjusting according to the scene or pick one where her skin reacts well.
I love how you did the feathers, the colors bounce off the screen and my eyes are always moving to look at them.
Noting on the skintone by itself, I like how you depicted the subtle shift in color on the shoulders and the texture you created at the base of the shirt.
Overall, you know how to digitally paint, that's no question. I think maybe this was a slight "miss" in your large gallery of work.
As for originality, while I have nothing but love for this piece and the techniques and colors employed, I have to admit that I feel like I've seen the pose before. Not in a way where it is completely unoriginal, but more in a way such as... in a sea of Gwendolyn fanart, it will not be the only one where she is floating in a violet sky with her wings spread. The pose is gorgeous, but not exactly unique. For that, I can only rate the originality as 3/5. Don't get me wrong, it is still a gorgeous piece that will stand out for its quality alone, but the pose itself is somewhat bland. Beautiful and graceful, but still not entirely striking.
The technique is handled beautifully. It has the same glazed paint feel that the original art style has. It is very smooth and the colors are very soft. The feathers seem to shimmer and the reflections on the metal are just gorgeous. There is very little that I can say about the actual technique that isn't positive, but the only thing that really stands out is her right hand, which seems a little unfinished compared to the rest of her skin. Nevertheless, the rest of the feathers and even the clouds in the background have a very supernal feel. I will proudly call this a 5/5. It's handled beautifully.
For the impact, I'm going to have to say 4.5/5... I would love to give it a 5/5 because that is how I personally feel about its impact, but like I mentioned in the originality part, this won't be the only piece with the game's traditional color scheme and the "heavenly" pose of Gwendolyn. This is kind of a situation like the many Annunciations by many artists in the Renaissance. There will be other pieces featuring Gwendolyn like this and one can line them up to literally have a beauty pageant. (This one would have my vote, for the record.) On the positive, this is a piece that will jump out at you because it is both beautiful and handled with skill. Even its thumbnail will jump out because of the rich, deep colors and overall beauty.
If I had to describe this piece in one word, it would be "Glorious".
Well done.
